Big cat post - Bengal tiger portraits

Submitted by mary on Friday, 17 April 2009No Comment

Sometimes, inspired by a particularly good story or experience (see Cheetah Run), we diverge into the world of the “big cat”. This time it’s a selection of photos of Bengal tigers. The stunning photographs show the four types of Bengal tigers, personified by a diverse group of subjects.

What’s particularly impressive is the use of the close up shot, more commonly seen in human portraits, giving you the strange impression that they were sitting posing in a photographer’s studio, some looking more (or less) impressed than others. Either way, it’s a fantastic anthropological study. Maybe we’ll do something similar with an array of ginger cats.

As a strange aside, these fine felines reside in a reserve with a liger (a creature we may return to again).
